I'm looking for everyone's "expert" help! We are traveling to Hilton Head for the first time but from what I've heard, it won't be our last! We are staying at Seaside Villas, on South Forest beach for 5 days. We are not particular, and like Time in hilton head sorts of food.
We do plan on our fair time of laying out on the beach, but we'd also like to do some shopping, tours, excursions etc.
What are some " not to miss" things we need to hit while we're there? My family I have teens also has been going to HHI for maybe 10 years. Here are our favorite restaurants thus far:. Wreck of the Salty Dog this is the one where you can eat outdoors on the water as opposed to the other Salty Dogs. The food is never amazing here, but it's good enough and always fun.
Plus the kids love the Salty Dog store to get tee shirts or sweatshirts.
I also like going to Harbour Town for a couple hours and shopping around. The kids don't like it, but that is because they hate to go shopping.
I can usually bribe them with ice cream there or letting them go to the top of the lighthouse. It's a little outdoor shopping mall, but compact and cute.
The key is choosing a tour that barely has anyone signed up so that it's more personalized to your family. If you're really into nature check out the Pinckney Island National wildlife Refuge.
It's totally natural, no vehicles past the parking lot, on HHI right after you cross the bridge.
